Amaroo (0-2 Years) - 10 places with staff
Amaroo provides an environment that involves the first stage of development to promote a balance of trust and feelings of security without their first primary carer (Mum or Dad).
Staff value the importance of building a strong relationship with all parents regarding their child’s well-being and growth. They focus on open communication, feedback from families and support in providing a caring, warm friendly and nurturing environment. This stimulates the holistic development of each child. Staff encourage social interactions, the beginnings of self help skills (independence) and the opportunity to explore the environment using sensorimotor play. In providing experiences that focus on using senses it encourages infants to gain skills and develop their individual potential. The children are also encouraged during exploratory play with a variety of media including drawing, painting, music and movement, large body and creative experiences.
Most importantly the staff embrace a happy and fun environment for all infants to express themselves
Buddina (2 - 3 Years) - 15 places with 3 staff
Buddina promotes an environment that welcomes the next stage of life, ‘toddler hood’. Toddlers are very busy, competent, active and dynamic little people. In this stage of development, staff value play to enhance the child’s skills and learning abilities.
Staff construct an environment that offers a sense of security which allows each child to feel welcomed. The children are encouraged to have independence, express feelings and the power for each child to be themselves. Each toddler is given the opportunity to experience the environment by trying to discover and understand how things work, as well as how to hypothesis and problem solve tasks or situations. Staff create learning areas that involve dramatic play, painting, block and construction, music and movement, playdough, group experiences involving peers and increasing your child’s attention span.
A strong focus is placed on importance of empowering your child to promote self help skills such as toileting. They also support families and children to cater for individual needs and interests. We like to see your child having fun with a happy smiling face.
Cooinda (3 - 5 Years) - 25 places with 3 staff
Cooinda is designed to meet the needs of pre-schoolers. It provides a holistic approach to your child’s learning and development during these important years, with the Pre School experience encased in the long care of your child It offers an environment that strongly focuses on independence with each child. Staff empower each child to recognise their own belongings and being responsible for them.
Staff encourage each child to value their own work as well as the work of others. This is done by working together in small or large groups on set goals or tasks. Staff believe that play is an important facet to your child’s learning and development. This is implemented by listening carefully to their ideas, participating with them in conversations and documenting their experiences. The teachers role is to create a partnership with your child to walk along side them in building their knowledge. The room is organised into learning areas such as science, reading, drama, block and construction, manipulative (puzzles), drawings/ writing/ painting, art and craft, play dough and clay.
Particular emphasis is placed on children leading to Kindergarten, focusing on Literacy, Science, Maths, developing longer attention spans, collaborating in larger group experiences. These experiences are designed to make you child’s transition to Kindergarten much smoother and happier.
